  • No, you do not need to be a programmer or have a coding background. A basic understanding of AI, data or related fields is recommended. Participants should be comfortable with general concepts such as working with datasets, problem framing and interpreting results. The course focuses on applied, intermediate-level competencies. The programme remains interdisciplinary and is open to participants from different backgrounds working in sustainability-related areas.
  • This programme is designed for professionals across academia, industry and the public sector who want to understand the intersection of artificial intelligence and sustainability. It is ideal for those who have some prior exposure to AI, data or sustainability topics.
  • The course runs until March 2027. Each module requires approximately three to five hours of work. One module is released every other week. A winter break of four weeks is scheduled from mid-december 2026 to mid-january 2027.
  • The programme is delivered as a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), allowing participants to follow the content remotely and at their own pace.
  • The programme is offered free of charge to participants.
  • The course is expected to start on 12 October 2026.
  • Yes, you will receive a certificate of completion for the MOOC, and a certificate with ECTS credits for completing both the MOOC and the bootcamp.

  • Yes, the course includes several opportunities for interaction. These include live webinars for each module to deepen key topics, a launch webinar at the beginning of the programme, and an optional on-site bootcamp in Luxembourg at the end of the course. The bootcamp is an additional, selective opportunity and is not required to complete the online MOOC. Further details and conditions will be shared with participants during the course.
