Building trustworthy AI: insights from SnT Partnership Day 2026
SnT Partnership Day 2026 encouraged individuals and institutions to actively shape AI systems, rather than simply adapting to them.
700 participants from research, industry, government, and public institutions came to the convention centre to explore the theme Building trust in AI.
Throughout the event, speakers emphasised that trustworthy AI requires more than technical innovation. Organisations need practical tools, clear governance frameworks, and opportunities to actively assess and shape the AI systems they deploy.
One of the highlights was a presentation about the AI Assessment Sandbox Configurator, developed by SnT and LIST as part of the Luxembourg AI Factory initiative. The open-source platform will enable organisations to create tailored AI testing environments, helping them evaluate performance, compliance requirements, risks, and governance considerations in a structured and transparent way.

The event also explored broader questions around AI sovereignty, ethics, cybersecurity, and human oversight. Researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders discussed how Europe can strengthen its capacity to develop and deploy AI technologies aligned with its values.
Partnership Day 2026 reinforced a central message shared by the Luxembourg AI Factory: building trustworthy AI depends not only on technological excellence, but also on empowering organisations to make informed decisions about how AI is assessed, governed, and deployed.
